A block off Vanderbilt on Underhill, Cheryl’s Global Soul at 236 Underhill does hearty, globe-hopping comfort food and a strong brunch, which makes it a smart pick for a Sunday afternoon Liberty game or a matinee concert. And for dessert on the way back, Ample Hills Creamery at 623 Vanderbilt scoops some of the most over-the-top ice cream in Brooklyn. Getting a cone and eating it while you walk the last few blocks to the arena is, I will admit, a slightly childish ritual we repeat every single time. Zero regrets.
