152 West 26th Street. Take the N/R to 28th Street.
La Cabra is a Danish roaster that opened in New York and immediately became one of the best coffee shops in the city. Their approach is light-roast, Nordic-style coffee that highlights the natural flavors of the bean. If you’re used to dark roasts, this might taste completely different from what you expect. But give it a chance. The filter coffee here is exceptional. Bright, fruity, almost tea-like in its clarity.
The pastries are also ridiculously good. Their cardamom bun rivals anything I’ve had in Scandinavia. The space is clean and minimal and it’s a great spot to sit and read for an hour.
