Loukoumi Taverna at 45-07 Ditmars is a pretty room, stone walls and wood beams, and while dinner is perfectly good, the move here is weekend brunch. Greek brunch is a criminally underrated genre. Think eggs with feta and tomato, thick yogurt, honey, strong coffee, and no line out the door because most tourists have not caught on yet. A quiet, sunny table on a Sunday is exactly the kind of Astoria morning I miss most.
