Agnanti Meze sits at 19-06 Ditmars Boulevard, right at the edge of the park, and it does the thing I wish more restaurants understood. It is built for grazing. The Santorini fava, that silky yellow split-pea puree, is a must. So are the zucchini croquettes and the shrimp wrapped in kataifi, all shatter and crunch. The grilled octopus holds its own against the Ditmars competition, which is saying something.
Come with a group, order six small things instead of two big ones, and watch the table fill up. In good weather the Aegean-style patio makes you forget you are twenty minutes from Times Square. This is the meal I recommend when someone says they “don’t really like Greek food.” They do. They just have not eaten it this way.
