Where The Elevated Acre appears on New York Dearest

There’s a one-acre park on top of a building at 55 Water Street in the Financial District. You reach it by escalator from the street level, and most people walk right past the entrance without noticing it. Once you’re up there, you get a quiet lawn, benches, views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River, and almost no other people.
It’s open during business hours and completely free. I used to eat lunch here when I worked in FiDi and I’d have the whole place to myself.
