The Slipper Room on Stanton Street is technically a burlesque venue, but it also functions as a bar. And a pretty fun one at that.

The drink prices aren’t the cheapest, but you’re getting a show with your cocktail, which honestly makes it a better deal than half the “speakeasy” bars charging $22 for a drink in a mason jar. (Speaking of speakeasies, here are the ones actually worth visiting.)

Go on a weeknight if you want a mellower vibe. Weekends get wild in the best way. Either way, it’s a conversation starter. “What’d you do last night?” “Went to a burlesque show on the LES.” Nobody asks follow-up questions. You just win.
