The brisket alone is worth a detour, perfectly smoked, succulent texture, and flavorful bark, this is the sole reason I end up visiting Industry City frequently.

Good to know

Meticulously curated, it’s too expensive for my taste but even I’ll admit that it’s a pretty cool shop to explore for some design inspiration. Their selection of antiques (the maps!) and modern furniture is very impressive.

Comprised of 16 buildings across 35 acres, Industry City sits on the Brooklyn waterfront located in Sunset Park. The large industrial space was established back in the 1890’s and the space was used for manufacturing and distributing.

Chock-full of events, eateries and shops, Industry City has it all. You can spend hours getting lost, roaming from place to place and still barely scratch the surface. In between the buildings you’ll find colorful courtyards decorated with whatever season they’re in. The set up makes the perfect backdrop for photos.

My advice The best times to visit Industry City is during fall when the halloween decorations flood the place or during the winter when the ice rink is up.

Spanning an impressive 35 acres, Industry City is a cool waterfront complex of abandoned buildings that have been transformed into a dynamic mix of shops, breweries, and great restaurants. Known for hosting tons of seasonal events, the area is ripe for exploration!

Between the charming bookstores, incredible food, and top-notch sake brewery, you’ll find yourself occupied for an entire day. Any way you slice it, visiting Industry City is one of the best things to do in Brooklyn on a rainy day, so don’t miss it!

My advice Check out Japan Village is you’re interested in Japanese culture! It’s a bustling indoor market with Japanese food stalls and a popular grocery store.

Industry City is a sprawling 35-acre waterfront complex of converted warehouses in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Full of restaurants, breweries, art galleries and stores, the area seems to get cooler by the day so nobody was too surprised when a skating rink was added to the mix.

Today, visiting Industry City is one of the most popular things to do during the holidays. The hallways are decked out in lights, baubles, and garlands. Better still, the courtyard’s (surprisingly affordable) ice skating rink neighbors a charming little outdoor bar selling mulled wine, hot chocolate and snacks.
