It's on 2 of my lists. Each entry below is what I wrote about it there, with my verdict on that list, the fullest first.
I stumbled upon Modern Bakery completely by accident during a random morning walk. Without realizing that I stepped foot into a 100% gluten-free bakery, I ordered a bagel.
The bagel was so delicious (the chewy texture!) that I came back the following weekend for more. Keen to show my husband the. And it wasn’t until my second visit that I noticed the gluten free signage.
Then it hit me, did I accidentally order a gluten-free bagel last weekend?
Turns out I did, and I loved it as much as a traditional bagel, which is why I consider this one of the best gluten free bakeries in New York City. Their baked goods span the gamut, offering sweet and savory options, you’ll find everything from challah to cupcakes.
I took my friend here during her visit and she raved about the bagels as much as I did. In fact, we returned to Modern Bread & Bakery a few times while she was in town.
I stumbled upon Modern Bakery completely by accident during a morning walk through the neighborhood, struck by a craving for bagels. I popped in without realizing this was a gluten free bakery, but I enjoyed the bagel so much I returned the following weekend for more. The texture is chewier than a traditional bagel, which I really enjoyed. The vibe here is cozy and unpretentious, perfect for a low-key outing with friends or a solo treat. It flies under the radar and I kind of love that about it.
