There’s no shortage of great kid-friendly treats to be had in New York City. Especially when it’s chilly out and thankfully calories don’t count on vacation so parents are free to indulge too. One of my personal favorite dessert spots in NYC with kids is Serendipity 3. The incredible Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (not a typo) will have your kids buzzing for years to come!

This unique hot chocolate experience isn’t a secret by any stretch of the imagination. Heck, at this point it feels rather touristy, but you know what? It’s a memorable dessert spot in NYC with kids and this list doesn’t feel complete without mentioning it, so go all in!

Serendipity 3 is known for over-the-top sweets, especially the frozen hot chocolate, which is as indulgent and photogenic as it sounds. I usually book a reservation if we’re going during peak hours, and it’s always a hit once we’re seated in the whimsical dining room.

The menu includes burgers, fries, and other comfort food, but the real event is dessert. The portions are massive, and everything comes with a bit of flair. It feels like an experience as much as a meal, which makes it perfect for celebrating something or just ending a long day on a high note.

Some folks will argue that Serendipity is the king of kid-friendly restaurants in NYC and I can’t say I disagree. It feels like the spot was created with kiddos in mind with the entertaining decor and irresistible bites.

But nothing takes the crown like the frozzzen hot chocolate (not a typo!). Your little won’t know what to do with themselves as the frozen mountain of sugar approaches the table.

I can attest from first hand experience, you won’t find a better family-friendly restaurant in New York City for dessert than Serendipity.
