The best Halloween events in New York City
Updated September 2026. 14 places.
New for 2026. Every place in this guide is on my Halloween tracker, the parade, the haunted houses, the pumpkin blocks and the bars, with this year’s dates the morning they are announced, and a place to save what you want to see.
Second only to Christmas, Halloween is when New Yorkers really go all out. Something as simple as walking through the neighborhoods becomes an experience thanks to the over-the-top decorations, and restaurants introduce themed cocktails and menus.
