The list, in my order
12 I’d go back to. My verdict on every one, and the ones nearby from my other lists.
Don Antonio NYC

- Address309 W 50th St, New York, NY 10019
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
The food world of pizza has historically been run by men, but Don Antonio’s Giorgia Caporuscio is looking to change that. Caporuscio has been dubbed the Queen of Neapolitan Pizza and it’s not hard to taste why.
The menu at Don Antonio’s is made up of 45 different pies and a handful of fried pizzas (popular in Naples). Every pizza on the menu can be made gluten-free, so you’ll have a ton of NYC gluten-free pizzas to choose from.
We recently did a taste test which included a gluten-free pizza (Truffle Burrata & Prosciutto), a fried pizza (the Montanara), and another of their signatures (Pistacchio & Salsciccia). Each one was the best and delicious in its own right but the most surprising of all was the gluten-free which could not be distinguished from the regular pies.
A word to the wise, Caporuscio’s pies are a hot commodity and Don Antonio’s doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared for a short wait.
Rubirosa

- Address235 Mulberry St, New York, NY 10012
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Rubirosa is a classic New York pizza joint beloved by locals and tourists alike, for good reason. They have perfected the art of vodka sauce, so much so, that I’d eat it by the spoonful if it were on the menu. Luckily for you, they also make some of the best gluten-free pizza in NYC. The quality is uncompromised, regardless of dietary conditions.
The reason I think Rubirosa is the BEST pizza in New York City is simple. I get excited by the simplest pizza known to man. The famous tie-die pizza. I mean, how can a combination of thin crust, vodka sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pesto be so memorable? I’m guessing the secret is in the quality ingredients. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Emmy Squared
- AddressMultiple locations in NYC
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Emmy Squared specializes in satisfying Detroit-style square pies with a thick crust. Unlike quick-slice joints, Emmy Squared is a sit-down restaurant that provides a full dining experience (including drinks and dessert). Offering gluten-free options for two-dozen pies, Emmy Square is one of the best gluten-free pizza spots in NYC.
While getting a table is usually manageable, reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. With five locations in Manhattan (and two in Brooklyn), be sure to reserve a table at the right Emmy Squared (speaking from personal experience!).
Not the flashiest spot on the list, but maybe the most memorable.
Ribalta

- Cost$6 extra for gluten-free
- Address48 E 12th St, New York, NY 10003
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Bringing the authentic taste of Naples to Greenwich Village, Ribalta is a treasured New York City pizzeria. The founder of Ribalta, Pasquale Cozzolino, is keen to point out that in Naples a pizzaiolo (pizza chef) must apprentice for two years before being allowed touch dough. Crafting pie is an art, and Ribalta has it down to a science.
They make some of the best gluten-free pizza in New York City, every pie can be made gluten free for an extra $6. But there is one major caveat here, I wouldn’t recommend Ribalta for folks with celiac disease because the pies are made in a common kitchen and cross contamination is possible.
For fans of soccer (especially Italian Serie A) Ribalta is a hotspot. Games are cast a projector while. And when the Italian national team plays? Welcome to Stadium Ribalta.
Emily

- Cost$4 extra for gluten-free
- Address35 Downing St, New York, NY 10014 & 919 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11238
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Emily is a small business founded by husband-and-wife duo Matt and Emily Hyland. Since opening in 2014, this pizza joint has become a favorite for tourists, locals, and even celebrities.
And although the mouthwatering burgers (which unfortunately aren’t gluten-free) are my main reason for returning, I can’t forget to mention that Emily also makes some of the best gluten-free pizza in NYC! For an extra $4 you can make any pizzas on the menu a gluten-free indulgence.
The pizzas are Detroit style, so expect deep-dish square pies that are thick and generously garnished with toppings. I’m partial to the Good Paulie (white pie with caramelized onions, sausage, and smoked gouda), but it’s hard to go wrong with any of the options on the menu.
Unpopular opinion. I’ll die on this hill, coal-fired > wood-fired > gas oven, and I don’t care who disagrees.
Two-Boots
- AddressMultiple locations in NYC
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Two Boots is named after Italy and Louisiana, two places that (when looked at on a map) look like boots. The founders of Two Boots were inspired by Cajun cuisine and New Haven (Connecticut) style pizza. Founded in 1987, this popular NYC pizza shop has 6 locations in NYC. The best part? Two Boots will gladly make any of the pizzas gluten-free upon request.
My adviceEach Two Boots location has a signature “home” pie that’s unique to the neighborhood (check them out online).
Bleecker St. Pizza
- Address69 7th Ave S, New York, NY 10014
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Since 2004, Bleecker St. Pizza has been serving really good thin-crust pies with a satisfying crunch. Not only do they offer exceptional gluten-free pizza in NYC by the slice, but they stick to the basics, delivering damn good pie without fancy embellishments.
Primarily a slice shop, Bleecker St. has a limited selection of ready-made gluten-free pies, usually including their signature nona pie and a cheese pie. If you’re looking for a whole pie, you’ll need to order online or call ahead.
Double Zero
- Address65 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Matthew Kenney, a plant-based food pioneer, owns several restaurants nationwide, including Double Zero, which makes some of NYC’s best gluten-free pizza. Located in the East Village, the restaurant proves that a healthy diet and delicious food can coexist, with incredible pies available in gluten-free and vegan options. However, the seating is a drawback because the uncomfortable stools make it hard to linger long.
Saraghina Restaurant
- Cost$5 extra for gluten-free
- Address350 Lewis Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11233
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
In Bed-Stuy, Saraghina Restaurant stands out for offering some of NYC’s best gluten-free pizza in Brooklyn. A local favorite, it’s known for its cozy interior and really good outdoor dining, making it a perfect spot for a date night. For an extra $5, any of the ten pies on the menu can be made gluten-free. Alongside the best gluten-free pizza in NYC, Saraghina Restaurant serves outstanding Italian dishes. Don’t miss the Brussels sprouts; they’re a must-try.
Kesté
- Address66 Gold St, New York, NY 10038
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Chef Roberto Caporuscio, owner of Kesté, mastered pizza-making in Naples before successfully opening pizzerias in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He brought his expertise to NYC, launching Kesté in 2009. Offering fine dining and exceptional Italian wines, it’s ideal for a relaxed date centered around pizza.
At Kesté, dietary restrictions are easily accommodated with some of NYC’s best gluten-free pizza options. Plus, almost anything on the menu. They’re also known for fried pizza, a surprisingly delicious (crispy!) treat.
Interesting thing to know.Remember the pizzaiola at Don Antonio’s pizzeria, Giorgia Caporuscio? Well she’s the daughter of Roberto Caporuscio, founder of Kesté. Making the best gluten free pizza in NYC is a family affair!
Sauce Pizzeria
- Cost$30+
- AddressMultiple locations in NYC
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Sauce Pizzeria blends Italian and Southern cuisines to create a heavenly experience. The hearty food and small-town vibes make you forget you’re in the big city. Gluten-free pizza enthusiasts will be delighted. While some wish the pies were bigger, I see it as an opportunity to try more variety.
The must-try is the white pie with fresh mozzarella, ricotta, red onion, sausage, and hot honey. Despite being one of the best gluten-free pizzas in NYC, Sauce’s drawback is the hefty $30+ price tag for a 10-inch pie.
Wild
- Address535 Hudson St, New York, NY 10014 & 148 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217
- From my guide, updated September 2026.
Wild has locations in both Park Slope (Brooklyn) and the West Village, both of which are completely gluten-free (can you hear the angels singing?). Women-owned and renowned for incredible Italian fare, it’s no wonder Wild has become wildly successful (some pun intended).
Their specialty lies in crafting some of the best gluten-free pizza in NYC. The crust is exceptionally thin and. Plus, since the entire facility is gluten-free, those with strict dietary don’t need to worry about cross-contamination. You can savor your meal and rest assured that you’re enjoying 100% gluten-free NYC pizza.
