The Plot Another beloved classic, follow along as Aladdin discovers a magic lamp containing a wish-granting Genie. With the Genie’s help, Aladdin transforms into a prince in an effort to win the love of Princess Jasmine and defeat the villainous Jafar.

My take Although Aladdin is recommended for ages 6+, I watched the show with my best friend’s 5-year-old daughter and she was at the edge of her seat the entire time. The magic carpet scene is mind-blowing (the teenage girls sitting behind us audibly gasped). This is one of the best kid-friendly Broadway shows in NYC, it’s very entertaining.

Colorful and high energy, Aladdin is one of the best Broadway shows in NYC for kids. The musical follows Aladdin’s story from thieving-peasant to the magic lamp and his love affair with Princess Jasmine. The upbeat music and lively choreography make the show tolerable for parents, while kids will find themselves engrossed.
