Copper & Oak is the younger sibling to the Brandy Library. Here you’ll find a similarly spectacular selection in a far more intimate setting. There are roughly eight bar stools available as well as a standing counter to enjoy your drams.
The knowledge of head bartender Matsushita is legendary. Ask him anything, he knows. If they don’t have the exact dram you’re looking for, they’ll have something similar. The only drawback? Copper & Oak’s prices are steep.
Keen’s is the best overall scotch whisky bar when factoring in the combination of bang for your buck, selection, and vibes. Manhatta is best for the views and put together selection. The Brandy Library has the best selection.
At Copper & Oak, wood tones overrun the decor as well as the drinks, since whiskeys are their specialty. The swanky bar offers rare and exclusive spirits that you won’t find at just any old dive bar. Therefore, this is one of the best bars in the Lower East Side to celebrate special occasions and milestones.
The only downside to Copper and Oak is how small the bar room is! Narrow counters line the walls and finding seating can sometimes be a headache, especially on weekend evenings. However when you do find a seat you won’t regret staying. Not to mention, the coziness creates an air of intimacy with the person you’re sharing a drink.
Offering hundreds of different kinds of whiskey, Copper & Oak is a popular Lower East Side destination for folks looking to try something new. There are various rare, hard-to-find bottles that connoisseurs will relish, and expert bartenders are ready to introduce newcomers to the world of whiskey. The only caveat is that Copper & Oak is tiny! The scotch whiskey bar only has eight bar stools available, but there are standing counters where guests can enjoy a drink.
