Let’s get real. The Flatiron Building needs no introduction. The intriguing triangular shape makes this one of the most beloved and famous buildings in New York City! Built in 1902 at the bustling intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway, this one of the most photographed spots in the city today.
Boasting French and Italian Renaissance influences, this famous NYC building was first met with hesitation from New Yorkers. They were convinced that between the odd triangular shape and building height, it would fall down. Heck, even the New York Times originally called it a monstrosity.
But alas, the Flatiron Building has not only withstood the test of time, but the test of adoration as well. This has become one of the most beloved buildings in NYC and most New Yorkers can’t imagine the Big Apple without it.

Something to Note, The Flatiron Building is currently undergoing construction, with scaffolding covering its exterior. The completion date for the project is currently unknown.
The Flatiron Building is one of New York City’s most famous landmarks, and even though it’s currently under renovation, it still draws crowds every day. The shape is instantly recognizable, and I’ve never walked past it without seeing someone snapping a photo. It’s located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway, right near Madison Square Park, making it an easy stop on any sightseeing route.
I usually grab a coffee from one of the nearby cafés and take a stroll around the park to admire the view. The neighborhood is full of good food, interesting architecture, and people watching. Even if you’re not going inside, the Flatiron is one of those classic NYC photo ops that belongs on every list of the most popular attractions in New York City. It’s a quick stop, but a memorable one, especially if you time it with golden hour. You can feel the history and style of the city in the way it cuts the skyline, and it’s still one of my favorite landmarks to revisit.
