L’Industrie.

L’Industrie Pizzeria has a relatively short but impressive history. Since opening in 2015 by Italian native Massimo Laveglia, it’s been recognized by many pizza enthusiasts as some of the best pizza in NYC. Fighting words, I know.

Intrigued by the onslaught of praise, we paid them a visit. The pizza style doesn’t fit into any traditional category, perhaps most closely related to a proper NYC slice, but the crust is slightly thinner, almost crunchy.

The dough is long-fermented until it results in a zippy canvas for the fresh ingredient imported from Italy. If there’s a better slice of pizza in Brooklyn I’ve yet to find it. L’Industrie has locals commuting 30+ minutes just to get their grubby little hands on the famed Margherita with burrata slice, myself included.

L’Industrie is a pizza joint first and foremost (dishing out some of the best pizza in NYC. To boot), but that doesn’t stop them from churning out the most exciting soft serve in New York City as well. There’s usually two flavors on offer, but the original olive oil flavor is the stuff of legends.

Made with extra virgin olive oil imported directly from Italy, the texture of the soft serve is irresistibly creamy and the boldness of the olive oil results in unique food experience you won’t soon forget. Don’t sleep on this spot, we take all out-of-town guests to L’Industrie for both pizza and ice cream and folks rave about it months after.

Relatively young, having debuted in 2017, L’Industrie rose to fame very quickly with some of the best pizza in Williamsburg. The pizza shop had to relocate due to their increasing popularity, which was evidence of their own success.

Notable endorsements from NYC figures like Lil Mo Mozzarella and Action Bronson, who claim it to be the best pizza in the city, contributed to their cult following. But even though celebrities bring people in, the pizza is what keeps folks coming back. As far as I’m concerned, the burrata slice is non-negotiable.
