Part-wine bar, part-restaurant, sometime a special occasion merits a Michelin star, in which case Four Horsemen fits the bill. No trail mix in sight, the menu features tantalizing dishes worth a detour alone, aggressively seasonal, the menu changes at breathtaking speed.

The 50-page wine list is just as impressive. By-the-glass options range from sparkling Spanish cava and bright Italian rosé to a velvety orange wines and earthy tempranillo. The Four Horsemen is definitely the place to go if you’re keen to impress a date.

With that said, it’s one of the hardest New York City wine bars to get into, try your luck at the bar (reserved for walk ins).

The Four Horsemen in Williamsburg stands out as both a popular NYC wine bar and an affordable Michelin Star restaurant. They offer an impressive menu with ingenious dishes (like braised leek toast with whipped ricotta) that are all under $45. They also have a curated 55-page wine list featuring natural and orange wines, with most glasses costing less than $20.

However, The Four Horsemen is one of the hardest reservations to get in New York City. They become available 30 days in advance at 7 AM and rarely last more than a few minutes before being claimed. The restaurant also saves spots at the bar for walk-ins, but there’s usually a considerable wait.

The Four Horsemen would be my go-to date night restaurant if it wasn’t one of the hardest reservations to get in New York City. The Brooklyn wine bar is the full package, and even boasts a Michelin Star.

It’s one of the most affordable Michelin restaurants in NYC, with no entree clocking in north of $35 (just don’t get carried away with the wine menu). The hard part is securing a table, Resy’s go live at 7AM, 30 days in advance.
