Tartine.

My introduction to Tartine was serendipitous. Intrigued by the striped awning, my husband I decided to pop in for an early dinner while passing by. Seated in a sun-soaked corner inside the charming coastal themed restaurant, the waiter kindly informed us of Tartine’s “bring your own bottle” policy and we were hooked.

I knew this place would be on constant rotation in our West Village restaurant arsenal from that day on, and I wasn’t wrong. To get a lay of the land, we ordered the escargot, mussels, burger and steak. The food was great and the vibes even better.

Between the ambiance, inviting staff and delicious fare, it’s no wonder this place always dons a long line. It’s the quintessential West Village restaurant, highly recommend for casual dates and brunch (this one of my favorite brunch spots in the neighborhood).

Dishing up some of the best brunch in the West Village, Tarine has a generous “bring your own bottle” policy. Let the good time roll with a bottle of champagne and some good girlfriends in tow.

The large brunch menu puts a heavy emphasis on egg dishes, with knock-out baked eggs (tomato basil sauce, chickpeas, cauliflower, lamb sausage). But you’ll find classics from French toast, BLTs, Croque-Monsieur and corned beef hash.

I’m a big fan of the apple pancakes and gravlax toast (mascarpone, capers, lemon, honey mustard sauce, salad). Cozy and inviting, Tartine is one of my favorite brunch spots in the West Village for nostalgia’s sake alone (I’ve celebrated many big occasions here over the years).
