There’s something magical about introducing kids to New York City through picture books. Not long after my daughter was born, we started collecting as many as we could find. Now, it’s become a weekly tradition to pick out a new one from our local bookstore—story time is one of her favorite parts of the day.

You don’t have to be raising a little one in the Big Apple to enjoy these books, either. They’re perfect for families planning a future trip, helping to build excitement and give kids a sense of the city before they even arrive.
