I should probably start this by admitting that I have a coffee problem. I don’t mean I enjoy coffee. I mean I need it to function as a person and I’ve organized an embarrassing amount of my life around knowing exactly where to get the best cup within a 10-block radius of wherever I am. I’ve mapped this city in coffee shops the way other people map it in subway stops. And honestly? The best coffee in NYC is so good that my problem just keeps getting worse.

This list is every coffee shop in New York that I genuinely love. Not the ones with the prettiest latte art for Instagram. Not the ones that opened last week and have a line around the block because some influencer posted about them. These are the ones I actually go to, with my own money, on a regular basis.
