Yes, Cafe Grumpy was on Girls. Yes, it got famous from that. But the Greenpoint location was excellent before HBO showed up, and it’s still excellent now.

Their pour-over is consistently one of the best in Brooklyn. The baristas know what they’re doing, the beans rotate regularly, and the space has that old-school neighborhood cafe energy that a lot of newer spots try to fake.

They have locations in Park Slope, the Lower East Side, and a few others now. But go to Greenpoint. That’s the one that matters.
