Ping’s Seafood is celebrated for authentic Cantonese cuisine and exceptional seafood dishes. Since opening in 1998, the restaurant has been a local favorite thanks to traditional cooking methods and fresh ingredients. Although Ping’s is a seafood restaurant, its most famous dish is the Peking duck.
Known for crispy skin and succulent meat, this really good dish is carved tableside. The dish, along with Ping’s dim sum and fresh seafood selections, draws food enthusiasts who want to get their grubby little hands on authentic Cantonese cuisine. Hard to go wrong with this tried-and-true classic.
Ping’s is where you go when you want a proper Cantonese seafood dinner. The fish tanks near the entrance are not decoration. You pick your fish, they cook it, and it arrives at your table so fresh it’s almost startling.
This is a splurge by Chinatown standards. You might spend $25-40 per person depending on what you order. But the steamed whole fish with ginger and scallion is one of the best dishes I’ve eaten in this city, period. Bring a group and order family style.
