Via Carota is an Italian restaurant that opened to a lot of fanfare, being owned and operated by two of NYC’s most renowned restaurateurs. I’ve been haphazardly trying to snag a reservation for the last two years, to no avail.
The reservations won’t get any easier to get either. In 2023 Pete Wells, restaurant critic for the New York Times, ranked Via Carota the fourth best restaurant in New York City so the demand will see no end.
The hard to get reservations are available 30 days in advance, and go live on Resy at 10AM daily.
Via Carota is the passion project of Jody Williams and Rita Sodi, the lauded chefs responsible for Buvette and I Sodi respectfully. When the West Village restaurant opened in 2014, it became an instant success.
Inspired Tuscan cuisine takes center stage, start with bruschetta while perusing the pastas on offer. The cacio e pepe and wild. If seafood is more your speed, the grilled octopus & green olive pesto gets my vote.
Via Carota in the West Village has a charming sidewalk situation.
