e’s Bar is on constant rotation in my arsenal of neighborhood haunts. Oozing endearing ’90s rock vibes, it’s the perfect place for large groups. The venue spans 2,000 square feet (plus a front patio), making it possible to score a table during the great happy hour ($7 burgers).
The lineup of live entertainment is half the draw at popular Upper West Said bar. Stand up comedy on Mondays, Trivia Tuesdays and open mic Wednesdays keep the good vibes going. Entertainment aside, there’s more than 200 board games available too.
I’ve had a few cocktails at this joint and would suggest sticking to the beer and good vibes. My husband is a scotch enthusiast (here’s his roundup of the best scotch bars in NYC) and says the selection at e’s Bar exceeds expectations, for what it’s worth.
Home to one of the most affordable happy hours on the Upper West Side, e’s bar is a time-tested neighborhood staple with a great lineup of live entertainment. Well cocktails are $6.75, wine $7.75 and a beer + shot combo for $9.75. There’s also two burgers available on the happy hour menu, the house burger goes for $6.25 and falafel burger for $6.75. The decor strikes a nice balance between trendy and welcoming, so you never feel out of place whether you’re dressed up or in sneakers.
Unpopular opinion. I’ll say it. Upper West Side Happy Hour Guide (Table of Contents) deserves way more recognition than it gets.
e’s BAR in the Upper West Side is a neighborhood go-to for inexpensive brews, and hosts an annual Halloween Party dubbed Haunting On the UWS. There’s a DJ and karaoke, but no cover charge. But best of all there will be a costume contest at 11PM, and the winner gets a $100 credit for the bar .
