The cake is exactly what it sounds like. 24 layers of perfectly moist cake that requires an entire high school football team to finish. I have no doubt that this one of the best desserts in NYC for kids.

There are two ways to enjoy your mountain of sugar, either chocolate or vanilla confetti cake. As the waiter walks the masterpiece over to the table, watch as your kids shriek with excitement, unable to contain their composure knowing what’s ahead to tackle.

Maison Pickle offers a quintessential American brunch on the Upper West Side. Expect enormous servings, beautiful presentation and a full array of adult beverages.

I recommend ordering the Hot Honey Chicken n French Toast — you won’t be disappointed. The chicken is perfectly spiced and has a great kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. And yes, the dish pairs beautifully with a Bloody Mary, in case you were wondering.

The large portions ensured you’ll have leftovers the next day (and day after, for that matter). Not only is this one of the best restaurants near Central Park, it’s also enough food for two full meals!

The 24-Layer Cake at Maison Pickle is exactly what it sounds like. 24 layers of perfectly moist cake. To call it an indulgence is an understatement. The mile-high cake is massive, which means you should plan to have leftovers for a few days. So not only is this some of the best dessert in new York City, it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving!

The first time I visited Maison Pickle the waitress let my husband I know that the portions are large here because “skinny people are easier to kidnap”. We laughed at what we assumed was a joke and proceeded to order two separate meals because who likes to share their food? Not this gal!

Just a few dishes split amongst the family will be more than filling and get the job done. But it doesn’t just stop at the food, the dessert is equally as gigantic. I recommend ordering the 24-layer slice of cake to finish off your meal, your kids will love you forever for this.
