To the untrained eye Gotan looks like nothing more than a charming neighborhood cafe, but locals know better. Serving some of the best coffee in Tribeca, this one of the best working cafes in New York City!

The food menu is equally impressive. Full of time-tested breakfast staples like the cheddar scrambled egg biscuits (my favorite breakfast sandwich in the neighborhood) and creamy chia pudding topped with seasonal fruits and local honey.

I’m a big fan of 787 Coffee, mostly because the cafe’s purpose-driven mission is easy to get behind. The owners of the cafe are determined to provide an enjoyable farm-to-cup coffee experience while supporting the local community.

The coffee is sustainably grown and processed on a farm in Puerto Rico where locals are paid livable wages. This the type of business. There’s several locations across town, but the one in SoHo is one of my favorite working cafes in New York.

Café-Flor is one of the most beautiful cafes to work from in New York City. The second you step foot into this calming space you’ll be greeted with the pleasant aroma of coffee and plants. The bistro chairs and handsome green leather booths further add to the charm. The plants break up the space nicely, there are several private nooks perfect for deep focus.

Stumbling upon Kona Coffee Roasters turned out to be a pleasant surprise, I had no idea it was billed as one of the best laptop-friendly cafes in NYC. Communal tables, natural light, wifi and public restrooms, this a prime workspace for an afternoon. While coffee prices lean towards the steeper side it’s worth the occasional splurge because the beans are imported directly from Hawaii.

Butler’s well-put together breakfast and lunch menus are a perfect companion to the delicious coffee drinks on offer (made using Intelligentsia coffee). The modern SoHo cafe gets flooded with natural light, you can easily spend the entire day at this popular working cafe in NYC and be content. Just make sure your laptop is fully charged because outlets are not available.

It’s got that perfect balance of lively without being loud, which is harder to find in this city than you’d think. My advice. Ask about their daily specials. This one of those places I find myself recommending over and over, and everyone always thanks me afterward.

With plenty of outlets, strong WiFi and an endless supply of coffee you’ll have no excuse not to be productive at Ground Central Coffee. Whereas most cafes are bright sun-soaked spaces, Ground Central Coffee is more shaded and dimly lit, which might make it easier to focus, depending on preference.

If you’re feeling adventurous, ask the staff for their personal recommendation, they always steer you toward something great. Honestly, this spot has a special place in my heart. It’s where I go when I want to treat myself to something really good.
